VIENTIANE, Lao PDR – The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry-Department of Agriculture (MAF-DOA), the focal agency for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)-funded project, Agricultural Transformation and Market Integration in the ASEAN Region: Responding to Food Security and Inclusiveness Concerns (ATMI-ASEAN) in Lao PDR, in partnership with the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), held its first National Project Steering Committee (NPSC) Meeting on 12 November 2018 at the Vientiane Plaza Hotel here.

BOGOR, Indonesia – The Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC) awarded a travel grant to Ms. Jennet E. Razo, PhD in Environmental Science student at UPLB, for her participation in a summer program at Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Indonesia. The UC allocates funds each year to qualified lecturers or graduate students for travel to another participating UC member university. 
MALAYSIA – To promote the Center's scholarship programs, the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), through its Graduate Education and Institutional Development Department (GEIDD), held a marketing roadshow on SEARCA scholarship grants on 8 November 2018 at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)-Bintulu campus.

Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) provide support in terms of food, medicine, livelihood and overall well-being to around 23 million people who live in national forest reserve areas in Thailand. There are more than 10,000 registered community forests in Thailand covering a total area of 904,540 hectares, and the Royal Forest Department allows local people to collect NTFP from their registered community forests.
