SEARCA Director joins AAACU Conference

Dr. Gil C. Saguiguit, Jr., SEARCA Director, (front-second from right), joins the heads of member universities and colleges of the AAACU in the 21st AAACU Biennial Conference and General Assembly held in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan on 13-14 October 2016.

TOKYO, Japan – In his capacity as Board Member of the Asian Association of Agricultural Universities and Colleges (AAACU), Dr. Gil C. Saguiguit, Jr., SEARCA Director, participated in the 21st AAACU Biennial Conference and General Assembly on 13-14 October 2016 in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. Other participants of the events were heads of member universities and colleges of AAACU.

Hosted by the Tokyo University of Agriculture (Tokyo NODAI), this year’s conference gathered academics, researchers, and administrators to share their experiences as they relate to the theme Towards Sustainable World: The Challenges of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for AAACU in the Next Decade.

Established in 1972, AAACU is a network of agricultural colleges and universities in Asia that aims to improve human welfare through agriculture, education, research, and extension. Currently, SEARCA serves as the fund manager of the Association.
