35 ARBO staff from Bulacan participate in Training on Business Enterprise Operation and Management

The participants of the Training on Common Service Facility Business Enterprise Operation and Management held on 29–30 January 2014 at the Malolos Resort Club Royale, Malolos, Bulacan.

BULACAN, Philippines - SEARCA organized and facilitated the second batch of the training course on Common Service Facility (CSF) Business Enterprise Operation and Management on 29–30 January 2014 at the Malolos Resort Club Royale, Bulacan, Philippines. The activity is part of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-funded project entitled, Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS).

Major topics covered include (1) overview of business enterprise and steps in the decision-making process, (2) economic principles in business management, (3) importance of record keeping and setting up a record system, and (4) business analysis. Internal guidelines for each agrarian reform beneficiary organization (ARBO) on the business operation and management of the common service facility (CSF) were developed during the training. A total of 35 participants represented by the President/Chairman, Administrative and Finance Assistant, Equipment Supervisor, and Operator from the eight ARBOs in Bulacan attended the training. Mr. Pete Santos from DAR Provincial Office was also present during the event.

Dr. Cesar B. Quicoy, Farm Production and Management Specialist, served as the lead resource person for the training. Dr. Prudenciano U. Gordoncillo, Project Team Leader; and Dr. Merlyne M. Paunlagui, Training and Coaching Specialist, provided technical inputs in the training. (Maribel B. Almanza)
