LOS BAÑOS, Philippines – Recognizing the role of evidence-based policy proposals and effective research communication strategies in advancing food security and value chain development in Southeast Asia, the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) conducted back-to-back workshops on Communicating Research on Inclusive Agricultural Value Chains with Policymakers and on Policy Proposal Development on Inclusive Agricultural Value Chains on 25 February-1 March 2019 at SEARCA Headquarters. 
ORIENTAL MINDORO, Philippines – A scoping activity for the project Upgrading the Calamansi Value Chain towards Improving the Calamansi Industry in Oriental Mindoro was conducted on 14-16 February 2019 in the province of Oriental Mindoro. 
The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), which manages the ASEAN Working Group on Social Forestry (AWG-SF) Strategic Response Fund [ASRF], will undertake a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) visit to projects, which received ASRF grants in Myanmar and Thailand on 21-25 February 2019. 
LOS BAÑOS, Philippines – The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) is set to hold the 2nd Face-to-Face (F2F) session of the project titled Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) Mentorship Program: Communicating Agriculture and Fisheries Research for Inclusive and Sustainable Development (CAFRISD) on 27 February to 1 March 2019 at its headquarters. 
SAGADA, Mountain Province – The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) participated in the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) – Philippines 11th Annual Country Programme Review (ACPoR) with the theme, Promoting Inclusive Value Chains for Sustainable Rural Development on 6-8 February 2019 at Rock Inn and Café, Sagada, Mountain Province. 
LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – A seminar-workshop on the Status and Prospects of the Calamansi Industry in Oriental Mindoro for the project Upgrading the Calamansi Value Chain towards Improving the Calamansi Industry of Oriental Mindoro was held on 12 February 2019 at SEARCA Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna. 
Results of the study, Legal Discourse on Agri-Biotechnology: Implications to Lawyers' Engagement in Biotechnology in the Philippines were presented to scientists and experts as well as representatives from the academe, national and international agencies/institutions, and partners from the biotech community during the Agriculture and Development Seminar Series (ADSS) of the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) on January 29, 2018. 
VANCOUVER, Canada – The University of British Columbia (UBC), here, is offering a Travel Grant for a faculty member from a University Consortium (UC) member-university to visit the Faculty of Land and Food Systems (LFS) for at least four (4) weeks between 1 September and 30 November 2019. The objective of the visit is to strengthen ties between the UC visitor and UBC professors in research areas of common interest and expertise. The UC visitor will be expected to present a research seminar, deliver two guest lectures to an undergraduate class, and present a fireside chat with interested graduate students. 
LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) held a mini-workshop for the project titled Upgrading the Calamansi Value Chain towards Improving the Calamansi Industry of Oriental Mindoro on 24 January 2019 at the Sam-arng Srinilta Room, SEARCA Headquarters. 
SIEM REAP, Cambodia – A project being implemented under a grant from the ASEAN Working Group on Social Forestry (AWG-SF) Strategic Response Fund (ASRF), Community Forestry in Cambodia – A review of community forestry contribution to local livelihoods after 25 years of development, was visited by members of the ASRF Project Management Team on 17-19 January 2019.
