BANGKOK, Thailand – Twelve officials and staff of the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) and three officers of the Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative, Inc. (Lamac MPC) based in Cebu, Philippines, participated in an Overseas Comparative Study Mission Toward Inclusive, Sustainable, and Competitive Livestock Dairy Development here on 10-16 March 2019.

SAVANNAKHET PROVINCE, Lao PDR – A two-level English Training Course organized by SEARCA for a select group of lecturers from Savannakhet University (SKU) opened here on Monday, 11 March 2019. The course, which runs until 22 March 2019, is divided into a Beginner Level and an Intermediate Level to cater to the needs of the participants. It consists of modules on Writing and Grammar, Pronunciation Improvement, Conversations for Social and Academic Situations, and Reading and Vocabulary Enrichment.

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna– The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)-funded project Agricultural Transformation and Market Integration in the ASEAN Region: Responding to Food Security and Inclusiveness Concerns (ATMI-ASEAN) conducted a series of one-on-one review meetings with its national programs in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam from 25 February to 1 March 2019 at SEARCA Headquarters. 
The Call for Applications for the 2019 MSFSCC Summer School and one-semester mobility is now open. Deadline for applications is 12 April 2019. The Joint Master program in Food Security and Climate Change (MSFSCC) is a project of the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC) being led by Kasetsart University in Thailand. NAY PYI TAW, Myanmar – The ASEAN Working Group on Social Forestry (AWG-SF) Strategic Response Fund (ASRF) program management team visited a project being implemented in Myanmar, Assessment of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) in Mountainous Regions of Myanmar towards Community Forestry Development, on 21-23 February 2019. This project was endorsed to the ASRF by the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC) to identify NTFPs in mountainous regions of Myanmar and develop value chain analysis of promising NTFPs. It is expected to produce policy recommendations towards sustainable forest and NTFP management. 
LOS BAÑOS, Philippines – The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), in partnership with the Philippine Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) conducted the training of the second batch of participants on Financial Viability and Profitability Analysis of Agricultural Technologies and Enterprises on 18-23 February 2019 at the SEARCA headquarters.
