Bringing Back Mined Areas to Life through Endemic Microbes and Biochar Technology

This study used bamboo biochar from pyrolyzed trimmings collected from local businesses specializing in furniture and novelty products. Chopped and sun-dried wastes were pyrolyzed at 500 °C inside a closed tank under a limited oxygen supply and cooled overnight. Finally, pyrolyzed
bamboo wastes were soaked in water for 24 hours, air-dried, and then pulverized in a stainless mill. The vermicompost, on the other hand, was purchased from an accredited commercial producer.
