The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture announced a $150,000 funding for a winning research proposal under its Seed Fund for Research and Training program.
SEARCA said applicants had until Aug. 1 to submit their proposals for the SFRT grant.
The SFRT grant is open to Filipinos and other Southeast Asians who hold at least a four-year degree and lack significant funding support.
SEARCA is mandated to provide capacity-building interventions to address the agricultural and rural development needs of Southeast Asian countries.
The agency said it was looking for proposals in the areas of value chains and agribusiness commodity systems, integration of small-scale farmers into commercial food systems, food and nutrition security, productivity-enhancing innovations and modern technologies, rural entrepreneurship toward off-farm and non-farm businesses, climate change adaptation and resiliency, and natural resource management.
It said proposals should be innovative, could be completed in one year, and had strong potential for generating long-term funding support.
Each winning proposal will be awarded an SFRT grant of up to $15,000.
