LOS BAÑOS, Laguna — The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) has made the official call for applications for the 2025 SEARCA Grants for Research towards Agricultural Innovative Solutions (GRAINS).
According to SEARCA, the grants under initiative were designed to accelerate the growth of high-impact agricultural innovations and startup ventures that can revolutionize regional farming systems and uplift rural livelihoods across Southeast Asia.
The SEARCA GRAINS program invites agri-innovators, researchers and dynamic startups who have developed working prototypes of agricultural solutions to elevate their innovations.
“Successful applicants will receive critical support to scale their projects, deliver a broad regional impact, and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient agricultural sector,” SEARCA said in a statement.
Particularly, GRAINS is open to institutions that are academic, private, government, or nongovernment institutions, farmer groups, and cooperatives based in Southeast Asia, and individuals from the region who are students, researchers, faculty members, inventors, or startup founders with innovations at Technology Readiness Level or TRL 3 or above.
Grant support ranges from $5,000 to $10,000 or P250,000 to P500,000 for individual grantees, and $10,000 to $15,000 or P500,000 to P750,000 for institutional grantees.
