Outstanding SEARCA Scholarship Alumni (OSSA) 2026

SEARCA proudly launches the OSSA 2026 Awards to honor graduate alumni who exemplify the Center's core values and philosophy, demonstrate excellence in their professional fields, and contribute meaningfully to sustainable agricultural and rural development (ARD) across Southeast Asia.

Award Categories

Nominate SEARCA alumni in one of the following categories:

Teaching

Research

Public Service and Community Development

Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a SEARCA scholarship alumnus/alumna who completed a Master's or PhD degree

Must not be currently employed by SEARCA

No posthumous or self-nominations allowed

Nominations may be submitted by an individual or an organization; individual nominators need to submit another endorsement for the nominee

Opportunity to lecture in an OSSA Public Forum across SEAMEO member countries

How to Nominate

Submit your nomination through SEARCA's online platform. The nominee must confirm the nomination form, which will then be uploaded as part of the nomination.

When nominating, ensure that the nominee:

Has clearly indicated the award category where he/she will be considered

Shows notable achievements and impact on sustainable ARD in the region

Embodies SEARCA's core values and philosophy, with demonstrated excellence in his/her professional field

Deadline for nominations: 31 December 2025

Teaching

  • Student evaluation
  • Quality of teaching materials/syllabus/ textbook
  • Innovations in teaching
  • Mentoring/ Advisorship
  • Teaching awards or recognitions
  • Professional development certificates related to pedagogy or subject expertise

Research

  • Publications/ Citations/ h-Index, impact factor
  • Institutional, national, regional, or international awards related to ARD
  • Certificates or plaques of recognition
  • Innovation/ Invention/ Varietal or Breed improvement/ Discovery
  • Groundbreaking theory/ Research that led to more applied studies/research

Public Service and Community Development

  • Leadership role
  • Evidence of policy influence
  • Certificates or awards for leadership service
  • Recognition and awards (institutional, national, or international awards for public service or community development)

Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship

  • Contributions to the company and/or commercialization of research results
  • Facilitating the linkage of small farmers with processors, distributors and wholesalers
  • Impact reports (Job creation, livelihood improvement)
  • Recognitions or awards
