Bogor, Indonesia – The Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC) together with the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and the Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) organized the 5th University Consortium Graduate Forum (UCGF) on 1-2 October 2019. Since 2015, the UC annually conducts a graduate forum to provide graduate students from UC member institutions an opportunity to share their knowledge, expertise, research, and experiences. Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – The Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology (MinSCAT), in partnership with SEARCA, convened a multi-sectoral  meeting in Oriental Mindoro on 26 September 2019 for the collaborative project on “Revitalizing Calamansi Industry in Victoria, Oriental Mindoro Through Strengthening Linkages Among Farmers, LGU, SUC, NGAs, CSOs and the Private Sector” under the Inclusive and Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development (ISARD) Program. A scientist, research manager, and teacher in national and international public and private institutions, SEARCA Director Dr. Glenn B. Gregorio was awarded as Crop Science Society of the Philippines (CSSP) Honorary Fellow. Dr. Gregorio was recognized for his significant contributions to crop science through his pioneering breeding research. These include having led the development of at least 20 rice varieties with tolerance to abiotic stresses while at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) as Senior Plant Breeder. MATAAS NA KAHOY, Batangas – Fifty-two SEARCA Scholars based in UP Los Baños attended the team building activity on 8 September 2019 at Shercon Resort and Ecology Park.
