SEARCA rolls out summer school on food and nutrition security

SEARCA is now inviting qualified graduate and postgraduate students to apply for the pilot offering of its Summer School program to be held on 5-30 October 2014 at SEARCA, College, Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines.

For its maiden offering, the post graduate course will focus on the various concepts related to inclusive and sustainable agriculture and rural development (ISARD) towards food and nutrition security in the context of Southeast Asia, which is the Center’s priority thrust for its Tenth Five-Year Plan.

The summer school will consist of six modules, which will offer a combination of class lectures, educational field trips, group work, and case study analysis. To ensure that the course captures the Southeast Asian context of sustainable development, various experts and subject matter specialists will serve as resource persons/ lecturers for the month-long enhancement course.

The summer course costs USD 1,400 per student which covers food and accommodation, airport transfers, field trips, and course fee. Limited slots for financial support are offered by SEARCA.
