Dr. Perdinan, Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Geophysics and Meteorology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Indonesia, served as resource person for the five-day course.
The short course was funded by the Food Security Center (FSC) of the University of Hohenheim, which is part of the "EXCEED" program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). SEARCA is a strategic partner of the FSC in Southeast Asia.
Organized and led by SEARCA's Graduate Education and Institutional Development Department, the short course was part of the Center's Institutional Development Assistance (IDA) to UNTL.
Through its IDA program, SEARCA helps young and strategic higher education institutions with core competencies in agriculture and development disciplines. As such, SEARCA targets agricultural universities that are lagging in academic capacities but are strategically located in economic growth areas and expected to play a vital role in its country's economic development.
