SEARCA conducts Knowledge Management Audit at the Philippine Carabao Center at Mariano Marcos State University

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA)has been commissioned by the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) to implement the project titled “Building Capacity and Strengthening Partnership for Carabao Development Program.” One of the activities under the project is a knowledge management (KM) audit, which aims to discover priority knowledge and capability gaps in the PCC policy making, unit functions, and operations.

Dr. Grace Recta, PCC Director at MMSU, during the KM Audit on 26 October 2015 in Laoag, Ilocos, Norte.On 26 October 2015, SEARCA through the Project Development and Technical Services (PDTS) Unit conducted the KM Audit at the PCC in Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Laoag, Ilocos Norte. In attendance were the PCC Director, Dr. Grace Recta, three regional coordinators and four other regular staff. The KM Audit facilitated by Ms. Nancy Landicho, PDTS Program Specialist, focused on the areas of operation of the center. All participants gave their narratives on the common problems that they encountered – in both technical and administrative aspects, and expressed their capacity building needs. Moreover, each participant accomplished the KM assessment survey, which will be used in formulating the PCC KM strategy and program. The project team was also given a tour on the operations facility of the center. Dr. Lope B. Santos III, PDTS OIC and Program Specialist and Ms. Sarah Quiñones, PDTS Project Associate were also present in the activity.

Dr. Serafin Talisayon, KM Policy Planning Specialist and Team Leader conducted a similar activity at the PCC Main Headquarters in Nueva Ecija and the PCC station at UPLB. The study team will also conduct a a similar KM Audit at the PCC in Ubay Stock Farm, Bohol. (Sarah Grace L. Quiñones)
