32 ARBO participants from Nueva Ecija join training on Business Enterprise Management Plan of CSFs

The participants of the Training-Workshop on Business Enterprise Management Plan of CSFs, with the SEARCA Project Team and DAR Officials on 21 January 2014 at CLSU, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.

NUEVA ECIJA, Philippines – SEARCA organized and facilitated the second batch of training course on Business Enterprise Management Plan of Common Service Facilities (CSFs) on 20–21 January 2014 at the Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Muñoz, Nueva Ecija. The activity is part of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-funded project entitled, Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services.

Major topics covered include marketing information; plotting behavioral pricing of commodities; financial analysis; and the fee for use of the CSFs covering regular maintenance, operations, repair costs, and depreciation. The training also outlined the essential concepts, principles, and elements of business operation and management; reviewed and updated current and applicable practices of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organization (ARBO) pertaining to CSF use, business operation and management; as well as developed internal guidelines for the ARBO on the business operation and management of the CSF.

A total of 32 participants from the seven ARBOs attended the two-day training-workshop. Officials from DAR Provincial Office, headed by Ms. Joyce Ramones, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer (PARPO), were also present during the event.

Prof. Jimmy Williams, Project Team Leader, and Dr. Cesar B. Quicoy, Business Management Specialist, served as the lead resource persons while Prof. Mayo Grace Amit, Training Specialist, facilitated the activity.
