This project component aims to promote utilization of proven technologies and practices in irrigation, integrated pest management, fertilization, canopy management, off-season fruiting, and postharvest handling. These practices will be showcased in farms, which will be identified in Victoria, Naujan, and Pola. The demo farm will be implemented with best practices in calamansi production and will serve as a showcase to other Mindoro farmers. Willing farmer-partners will be oriented with the protocol for the trial.
The component is headed by Dr. Edna A. Aguilar, Project Leader and Director of the Institute of Crop Science (ICropS), together with Prof. Bryan V. Apacionado and Prof. Leslie Angela L. Roces, also from ICropS-UPLB. (Anna Gale C. Vallez)
