SEARCA offers a variety of graduate scholarship opportunities to Southeast Asians, including those under joint scholarship projects with its partners. These scholarships support students pursuing master's and doctoral degrees in agriculture and related fields and whose research are aligned with SEARCA’s priority thrusts to increase farmers’ income; improve food security and nutrition; increase climate resilience of agricultural systems; and empower farmers, farmer groups, agricultural stakeholders and their institutions.
SEARCA is the secretariat of the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC). This strong network of universities in Southeast Asia, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, and Germany supports research and faculty and student mobility, provides academic grants, and pursues collaborative projects that strengthen higher education institutions through innovation.
Through its Regional Professorial Chair Grants, SEARCA recognizes and supports outstanding experts in Southeast Asia who have made significant contributions to instruction, research, and extension in agriculture and related fields.
While SEARCA is widely recognized for its impactful scholarships that empower individuals to pursue advanced degrees, its Academic Grants offer a distinct, yet equally vital, pathway to foster excellence and build capacity within the region. Unlike traditional scholarships primarily focused on comprehensive tuition and living expenses for a full degree program, SEARCA's Academic Grants are strategically designed mechanisms that provide targeted support for specific, high-impact academic activities. These grants focus on facilitating direct knowledge exchange, fostering research collaboration, and bridging critical educational gaps.
