This study tour is designed for policy implementers at the senior management level, as well as senior scientists and researchers involved in biotechnology and biosafety policy formulation and implementation in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Timor Leste. It generally aims to enhance the conceptual and practical knowledge of the participants in planning, crafting, and implementing policies and regulations on agricultural biotechnology, specifically on its R&D and trade and production aspects. It also envisions to provide the participants meaningful learning opportunities and gain practical knowledge of the agricultural biotechnology industry in Taiwan, which they may apply in their own countries’ context upon their return to their home countries after the study tour program. To this end, participants will be required to produce action plans toward the end of the program.
This study tour is being organized in cooperation with the Korea FAO Association and the National Taiwan University.
