This five-day training course generally aims to enhance participants’ basic knowledge of impact assessment, its issues, tools, and how its results are best communicated. The intended participants of this proposed course include researchers and development practitioners working in technology-oriented projects incorporating capacity development of intermediate users and end-users of technology.
At the end of the course, participants are expected to be able to: 1) discuss the limits and potentials of impact assessment for R&D programs on technology and capacity development for poverty alleviation; 2) use selected methodologies in evaluating the impact of such R&D programs; and 3) maximize and translate the results of their impact assessment into workable policies.
