SEARCA inks a one and one half-year partnership with Powerbooks, Philippines’ top ranking book distributor. Four books will be launched at the 2/F Powerbooks, Greenbelt 4, Makati City on 29 May 2009, 6PM.

Themed “Regional Knowledge, Local Application,” the event will showcase four SEARCA books focusing on agriculture and rural development (ARD) including 1) Changing AgriFood Markets in Southeast Asia, 2) Poverty Reduction through Sustainable Fisheries, 3) Securing Rice, Reducing Poverty, and 4) Reasserting the Rural Development Agenda. The first two books are SEARCA’s new offering for this fiscal year.
Alongside, SEARCA will also introduce the Knowledge Management Center on Climate Change (KC3) – a five-year initiative which hopes to piece together various climate change-related works and knowledge solutions from different groups. KC3 aims to facilitate quick and easy access of knowledge solutions; particularly, adaptation technologies and best practices in agriculture and natural resources sectors. KC3 will provide a venue for knowledge exchange and sharing on climate change, with the objective of strengthening related research and development, capacity building, and policy advocacy efforts among Southeast Asian countries.
