SEARCA Director Arsenio M. Balisacan presented the flagship projects and other activities of the center during the program held at Umali Auditorium to orient H.E. Prof. Dr. Sudibyo on SEARCA.

On the other hand, UPLB Chancellor Luis Rey Velasco expressed his gratitude to H.E. Prof. Dr. Sudibyo for visiting the university and SEARCA. He hoped to strengthen the collaboration in human resource development between Philippines and Indonesia.

H.E. Dr. Sudibyo said that SEARCA has the potential to function as facilitating agent of development of the three types of community that ASEAN wants to establish. These are: economic, socio-cultural, and security ASEAN community. More so, SEARCA can facilitate development by continuously addressing the problem on food security.

Along with him were Prof. Dr. Dodi Nandika, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Education; Dr. Ir Gatot Hari Priowirjanto, Head of the Bureau of Planning and International Cooperation; Mrs. Yun Widiati, Head of Division of International Cooperation, Bureau of Planning and International Cooperation; Dr. Joko Pratomo, Head of Division of International Facilitation Services; Mr. Mohammad Thohari, Ministry of National Education staff; and Assistant Secretary Jonathan Malaya of the Department of Education, Philippines.
