Seven Vietnamese fellows who are faculty members of Hanoi Agricultural University (HAU) in Hanoi, Vietnam have been appointed to key positions of the university’s new administration, with a five-year term starting in January 2007.

The Vietnamese fellows and their new posts at HAU are:

• Dr. Nguyen Tuan Son, Associate Dean, Graduate School;
  
• Dr. Tran Dinh Thau and Mr. Pham Hong Ngan, both Associate Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine;
  
• Dr. Mai Thanh Cuc, Chairman, Department of Rural Development, Faculty of Economics and Rural Development;
  
• Dr. Pham Van Hung, Chairman, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Duong Nga, Vice Chairman, Department of Econometrics, Faculty of Economics and Rural Development; and
  
• Ms. Tran Thi Lan Huong, Chairman, Department of Food and Nutrition, Faculty of Food Science and Technology.

As of 31 March 2007, there are 70 SEARCA fellows from Vietnam, nine of whom are faculty of HAU. There are also five ongoing SEARCA scholars who are members of the faculty of HAU (LLDomingo, GSD).
