The SFRT provides grants of up to US$15,000 to selected research and training project proposals. Such seeding is expected to enhance the chances of promising projects to secure bigger support from donor agencies.
To reinforce the Center's efforts and resources in the promotion of inclusive and sustainable agricultural and rural development (ISARD) toward food security and poverty alleviation in the region, SEARCA will provide travel grants of up to a maximum of US$1,200 to each qualified agriculture and agriculture-related professionals and social scientists including graduate students in Southeast Asia.
The ASEAN-Swiss Partnership on Social Forestry and Climate Change (ASFCC) supports the ASEAN Social Forestry Network (ASFN), now referred to as the ASEAN Working Group on Social Forestry (AWG-SF), in addressing three interrelated issues confronting the region---food insecurity, poverty, and climate change. This partnership programme, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), aims to integrate social forestry into the climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies of ASEAN and its member states. It promotes the inclusion of communities, women, and vulnerable groups in social forestry and climate change adaptation and mitigation measures.
Dioscoro L. Umali Achievement Award in Agricultural Development intends to honor exemplary Southeast Asians whose work has provided exceptionally significant positive impact on the development of agriculture and the improvement of the quality of life in rural communities in the region.
