Another component of the Center’s manpower development program is the short-term training program. The program seeks to benefit SEAMEO member countries, which could not release qualified manpower for long-term graduate training. Starting with only two participants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands of Malaysia, the program now boasts of having trained about 11,892 individuals. The program is principally aimed at upgrading the skills and competencies of training participants who are already employed by organizations concerned in one way or another with agricultural development.
