SEARCA’s core activity for its manpower development component is the Graduate Study Program. Commencing in the academic year 1968-69, a year before the formal and permanent operation of the Center, the program seeks to produce high-level manpower that could possibly provide leadership for the participating countries in the field of agricultural development. From a modest number of 15 scholars, SEAMEO SEARCA has now awarded a total of 1,113 scholarships, 488 PhDs and 625 MS.
